Ok, we all have that friend or family member...you know, the one who turns an ordinary dilemma into the Apocalypse. Heck, maybe YOU are that friend or family member. If so, for God's sake, enough already with the "woe is me" drama. Surely it can't be that serious. And, even if it is, suck it up and put your big girl panties on! Guess what, EVERYONE goes through problems, obstacles, issues and quandaries...who in the world told you that this was going to be easy and that you were not going to have to endure even an ounce of discomfort?
I mean, I understand that of course we need to mourn losses, recover from illnesses, bring ourselves back from adversity...those are legitimate issues. BUT, do we have to allow regular, every day situations to leave us totally defeated? SERIOUSLY?!?!? Ok...so what if the guy you were digging has decided he isn't digging you...it is NOT the end of the world. Stop watching re-runs of LOVE BOAT and stalking his Facebook page! Ok...maybe you got laid off...you deserve a few freak out days but, damn, not MONTHS! MAN UP! Look at it from a positive point of view and start mapping out your next move. And don't just start mapping, STOP telling every single person you know and meet the same story about your drama. It's not attractive, helpful or remotely associated with a solution.
A good friend of mine always says, "Attitude creates your Aptitude and Aptitude affects your Altitude". If you want to have a pity party every day, then please ask for a table for one in the no-joking section because no one wants to be around you if you can't move on and enjoy the here and now. Some of the stuff we let bother and consume us is simply ridiculous. We ought to be flat out ashamed of ourselves for falling to pieces over some of this crap when there are people out there with REAL problems. Recognize what is important in life and stop feeling sorry for yourself! Until you can change the way you react to adversity and learn how to take it in stride, you will be living a self-fulfilling prophecy of negativity. You can change your reality by changing your attitude.
By the way, if you aren't THAT person...please forward this around to those who are. Maybe we can save ONE person from having to man the "CRISIS HOTLINE" tonight.
